PLAY: July 23rd

How important it is that we PLAY.

At our company meeting yesterday … one statement that stood out (and it’s not a new one ☺), was the fact that we must LOVE and have FUN with the work we are doing, other wise what is the point! Plays are called plays for a reason. One must play!!

In the break I looked around, and there it was, naturally. Playing ping-pong, plea’s to be pushed back and forth on the hammock, climbing trees; we had all allowed ourselves to be in the moment…of play. Delicious!!

Later that night, we were lucky enough to see the interns partake in their play.
It was truly wonderful. We were so impressed with their commitment, the seamless transitions and their creativity. I can’t believe what a wonderful group they are.
As we were taken on a tour through Megalo, we witnessed key moments from Churchill’s “Mouthful of birds” that ended in a frenzy of repetitive movement. At the back of the church …..another ☺

It was a great reminder of why we are in this (the world of acting.. lets face it there are other things that would cause less anxiety) because when you are with your peers, on stage…or running around the ancient villages in Greece we are connecting to our fellow players and allowing ourselves to be free of our adult sensibilities. To let go and let the imagination run…we are allowing ourselves the time to play. Just like we used to, and OH THE PLACES YOU GO
